I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Web site of Good Shepherd Communities.

As you explore this site, you will learn how our organization meets the spiritual, physical, mental, emotional and social needs of more than 800 people with developmental disabilities in four western states. You will also find information of employment opportunities, current events, ways you can help and how we may assist you with estate planning. There's also a guest book and we'd appreciate your comments about www.gscommunities.org.

General Information
Over 350 people with developmental disabilities receive services from GSC within California. An ever-expanding array of programs and services are offered in Orange County, Apple Valley, Victorville, Bakersfield, Visalia, Redding, Porterville, Fresno, Clovis and Fremont, California. A continuum of supports are provided through various types of residential homes, apartments and supported living services. Clients develop independent living skills through participation in day programs, job training and vocational opportunities, recreational activities and outings and community integration.

Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to work with clients on a one-to-one basis. Activities may include taking clients to church, teaching specialized skills, going for walks and just being a friend. Volunteers also may assist in the regional offices doing filing, answering the telephone, doing computer input and many other jobs. The "Adopt-A-Home" program is another great way to partner with Good Shepherd Communities in this region.
